<image:title>About Coaching - “Perhaps the most accessible form of freedom, the most subjectively enjoyed, and the most useful to human society consists of being good at your job and therefore taking pleasure from doing it - I really believe that to live happily you have to have something to do, but it shouldn't be too easy, or else something to wish for, but not any old wish; something there's a hope of achieving.”</image:title>

      <image:title>About Me - About Me.</image:title>
<image:caption>A graduate of the University of Edinburgh I have spent most of my working life in voluntary, local authority and government settings. My early career focused on youth work and community development in turn growing into an interest in the arts and creative activity as a context for personal and community development. This interest led eventually to the role of CEO at the Scottish Arts Council, then two years as Executive Director North in the Arts Council England. I returned to Scotland to take up a position as Executive Director of the Saltire Society, leaving after five years to focus on coaching and consultancy, as well as working as Coordinator for Amateo, the European network for active participation in culture. On that career path I have continued to develop my own skills and understanding, including an MBA (OU), an Advanced Diploma in Creative Writing, and the Advanced Diploma in Leadership and Performance Coaching. Having benefited from the experience of being coached at a challenging time in my career I am confident that it can be a powerful tool for individual development. See my CV here. In a non-executive capacity was a founding trustee of Luminate, Scotland's Creative Ageing Organisation and I am chairman of Oxton Community Development Company Limited which runs the community shop in our local village.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - “I have been in love with painting ever since I became conscious of it at the age of six. I drew some pictures I thought were fairly good when I was fifty, but really nothing I did before the age of seventy was of any value at all. At seventy three I have at last caught every aspect of nature – birds, fish, animals, insects, trees, grasses, all. When I am eighty I shall have developed still further, and I will master the secrets of art at ninety. When I reach a hundred my work will be truly sublime, and my final goal will be attained around the age of one hundred and ten, when every line and dot I draw will be imbued with life.”</image:title>
